Private Classes
Private Classes are a great option to receive structured learning with 1-on-1 instruction.
Private Classes come with set weekly homework to help guide you. (Leash Skills weeks 1-3 only & no homework for Weave Poles Class)
We offer the following formats for Private Classes:
- In-Home - Lessons are taught in your home
- On-Site - Lessons are taught at our location in Westsyde
- Virtual - Lessons are taught virtually over the computer

To purchase a Private Class below, click 'Register'. You will be asked to schedule your first lesson at the time of registration. Once you have registered and paid for your package, you will receive an email with a link to schedule your remaining lessons.

Private Puppy Class
1 Hr orientation lesson & 6 - 45 min lessons scheduled 5 - 14 days apart
All lessons come with homework to help guide you with your training.
Getting a puppy can be exciting but also overwhelming.
This private class will help set you and your new puppy on the right path to success right away. Topics covered include:
- Puppy specific issues
- Foundation skills - sit, down, stay (release word), impulse control, crate/mat, hand targets, how to play with your dog (tug & drop), and the start of loose leash walking and recall
- Life skill behaviours to assist with vet visits, grooming & other human handling.
This private class is suitable for those who are starting out with a new puppy or are struggling with 'puppy' specific behaviours (biting, crate training, potty training etc.)

Private Basic Manners Class
1 Hr orientation lesson & 6 - 45 min lessons scheduled 5 - 14 days apart
All lessons come with homework to help guide you with your training.
This class covers all the basic foundations for your puppy or dog to have good manners and basic obedience skills while helping to set them on the right path to success. Topics covered include:
- Foundation behaviours - sit, down, stay (release word), impulse control, crate/mat, hand targets, how to play with your dog (tug & drop), and the start of loose leash walking and recall
- Life skill behaviours to assist with vet visits, grooming & other human handling.
This private class is suitable for puppies and dogs of all ages that are not in need of help with puppy specific behaviours (biting, crate training, potty training etc.)

Private Leash Skills Class
5 - 45 min lessons scheduled 5 - 14 days apart
PLUS graduates will receive a credit to join one of our On-Leash Group Walks for FREE.
Lessons 1-3 include homework and will take place In-Home / On-Site.
Lesson 4 will take place in the neighbourhood (In-Home or On-Site).
Lesson 5 will take place in a public place in Kamloops (if ready)
Walking beside you on a loose leash, in a straight line does not come naturally to your dog. Yet, this is an essential skill that your dog may require at times to live a safe and harmonious life with you in the human world.
In this class we will cover:
- Basic Loose Leash Walking Skills
- Teaching a Heel behaviour
- Walking tools, how and when to use them.
- Practice with increasingly challenging, real world, distractions.
- Practice inside and outside (when your dog is ready & weather permitting)
If your dog does not have an established marker word (ex. 'Yes') and/or release word (ex. 'Okay ', 'Break') you will get upfront homework to teach your dog these skills before your first lesson as they are not covered in the curriculum but are used to teach the behaviours and skill taught.

Private Rock-solid Recall Class
6 - 45 min lessons scheduled 5 - 14 days apart
All lessons come with homework to help guide you with your training.
Having a dog that comes when called (the FIRST time) is an important and possibly a life saving skill. In this class you are going to build your relationship with your dog with FUN and engaging training games to build a strong recall. In this class we will cover:
- Why dogs ignore us when we call them
- How to teach a recall
- Recall GAMES to play with your dog
- Recall with distractions
- Skills to continue practicing and building your dog's Recall after class
If your dog does not have an established marker word (ex. 'Yes') and/or release word (ex. 'Okay ', 'Break') you will get upfront homework to teach your dog these skills before your first lesson as they are not covered in the curriculum but are used to teach on the behaviours and skill taught.
Your dog will also need to be comfortable going in a crate or have an established bed/mat cue

Private Level 1 Trick Class
4 - 45 min lessons scheduled 5 - 14 days apart

Trick training not only provides physical and mental challenges for your dog but it can also:

Build your dog's confidence
Build your dog's focus and engagement with you
Improve your dog's body awareness
Strengthen your dog's value for being close to you
Not to mention you get to teach your dog some cool tricks that you can show off to your friends and family!
As a Certified Trick Dog Instructor, I'll help you work towards your dog's Novice & Intermediate Trick Dog Titles if you would like to do so.
Some of the tricks covered in Level 1 Trick Class include: Roll over, peek-a-boo, spin, sit pretty, play dead, leg weave plus more!
If your dog does not have an established marker word (ex. 'Yes') and/or release word (ex. 'Okay ', 'Break') you will get upfront homework to teach your dog these skills before your first lesson as they are not covered in the curriculum but are used to teach on the behaviours and tricks taught.

Private Cooperative Care 101 Class
7 - 45 min lessons scheduled 7 - 14 days apart
Prerequisite: Must have an established marker word.
What is Cooperative Care?
This Positive Reinforcement based training approach works on allowing your dog to be an active participant in their care and handling. By taking your time and moving at your dog’s pace, you can reduce stress, build a stronger relationship and increase the safety of these experiences.
In this class you will learn:
- Handling Positions
- ‘Start Buttons’
- How to Desensitize or Counter-Condition touch (ears, paws etc) items (brush, nail clippers etc.)
- Muzzle introductions (a skill ALL dogs should have)
- Read your dog’s body language and communication
- Learn different handling techniques your dog may one day have to encounter
This 7 week long class will give you the knowledge and skills to teach and continue working on your Cooperative Care journey with your dog!
This takes time, patience and consistency!

Private Agility Classes
Private Agility FUNdamentals 1 & 2

Private Agility FUNdamentals Class
Lessons are held in Westsyde (inside during winter)
Whether you're just looking to have some FUN and build your relationship or you are wanting to work towards competing with your dog in agility, this is our foundation class to get started.
Private Agility FUNdamentals 2 Class
Lessons are held outside in Westsyde *seasonally*
Prerequisite: Agility FUNdamentals or equivalent elsewhere
Build upon the skills you learned in Agility FUNdamentals.
Continuation of handling skills, introductions to some contact equipment and short sequencing
Private Weave Poles 101 Class
10 - 30 min lessons - $600 plus gst
(must schedule 2 lessons per week / a lesson every 3 -4 days)
Lessons are held in Westsyde (inside during winter)
Open to dogs over 12 months old
Prerequisites: Agility FUNdamentals 2 or Level 2 equivalent elsewhere. Your dog should have good understanding of basic agility foundation skills.
We will use a mixture of 2x2s and Channels to teach your dog the Weave Poles!
